White denim is an absolute wardrobe essential, so I plan to keep it in heavy rotation even after the calendar turns over this Labor Day weekend. Who made up this ridiculous rule anyway? While everyone agrees that white is the epitome of summer chic, it is too often neglected throughout the cooler months. Pair your favorite white jeans with short boots, button downs, blazers and leather jackets in the fall, then throw them on with a black cashmere turtleneck (another wardrobe must) and a navy, grey, or black peacoat throughout winter. Just remember to avoid the slushy puddles!
Two of my favorites, Rich & Skinny’s Legacy Skinny:
and Hudson’s Collin Flap Pocket Skinny:
are on sale at Shopbop. Grab them before they are gone!
was just thinking about this the other day! besides i’m in CA, summer is just heating up. especially love with black cashmere. thanks wendy!
This was the very topic at the office today-I explained to a male co-worker no white eyelet sleeveless dresses after labor day in the midwest but yes to pants in the fall/winter-thanks for posting this piece. I can go in tomorrow and confirm the white pants year round as a couple colleagues were on the fence.
Thank you so much for your comments! Tell your colleagues that Emmanuelle Alt, the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris (and the woman in images 7,10,12, 13, and 15 of this post) wears white pants year round. If that doesn’t settle the debate, nothing will!
broke it in NY this week and saw lots of other fabulously dressed women doing the same.
